`The Future is our Jewel`, implementation of project`s 2nd Transnational Meeting at London.

One of the main goals of VTI - Volos Municipality is the most complete education and training of its students, which is enhanced by their participation in European Programs whose benefits do not stop at the graduation of students, but continue on their access in the labor market.
President A. Morfogianni and Vice President A. Zarkadas of KEKPA - DIEK were briefed on the implementation of the 2nd Transnational Meeting of the project `` The future is our jewel `` in London, where Jewelry department of our school  participated. During the meeting was presented the progress of the project, while the activities for the next 2 years of the program were discussed and decided.
The project "The future is our jewelry" brings together 6 partner schools around a common object, the creation of jewelery whose cultural heritage and professional history are different. Thus, the program addresses the need to highlight diversity in the field of jewelry so that these particular techniques used in various European countries become resources of shared wealth and learning opportunities, thereby acquiring new knowledge and techniques for personal and professional development of students in jewelry.

The work program over the three years relates to four types of activities for the methodology of implementing and managing strategic partnership: 1) RESEARCH, 2) JEWELRY CONSTRUCTION, 3) CATALOG CREATION, 4) EXHIBITIONS, promotion of student work! The program provides training mobility for students whose added value relates to the resources provided by each partner and the creation of an environment in which new practices and techniques for not only original jewelery but also a new environment are exchanged, shared, discussed and develop sustainable business.

In addition and to ensure long-term benefits for everyone, the site (https://thefutureisourjewel.wordpress.com) which contains  all results, will remain operational after the project closes, so that all stakeholders and partners can communicate with each other, to exchange ideas, propose improvements and update innovative methods.
During the mobility, implemented by BAJ - a partner from England, the British Academy of Jewelry - the project manager Mrs. L. Argyrakou - Jewelry Specialist - presented the activities of the DIEK so far, 1st  Mobility in Madrid in January, 2nd in Volos in March and 3rd  Mobility in London in May 2019. She also made suggestions for the progress of the project and its successful completion.

Interesting was the guided tour of the premises and the modern workshops of BAJ with the teaching staff of which 4 Greek instructors participate.
Also important was the visit to Goldsmiths` Hall where the Goldsmiths` trade Fair with original creations by jewelry designers took place.
