On March 26, the Foundation of Greek State Scholarships / National Coordination Unit for the Erasmus + program,  awarded  DIEK of Volos Municipality in the framework of Basic Action 1 of the new program (2021-2027) in the field of Vocational Education and Training . Accreditation   followed an evaluation of the application submitted under the European Call for Proposals and is valid from 1 March 2021 to 31 December 2027.

As pointed out by the president of KEKPA-DIEK Mrs. Sofia Chalari for this period the  I.I.E.K    ( KEKPA-DIEK ) of Volos Municipality will simplify access to financing projects. The aim of Accreditation is to reduce the administrative burden on applicants applying for mobility. This event comes as a recognition and reward of the excellent work done in recent years in the field of European Programs at both Educational and Administrative level and through the Quality Management System implemented by KEKPA-DIEK according to the ELOT standard 1429: 2008 ( Management adequacy for the implementation of projects, supplies and projects implemented with own efforts).

As mentioned in a relevant announcement of IKY, Erasmus Accreditation is a tool for Adult Education, Vocational Education and Training and School Education organizations that wish to participate in cross-border exchanges and cooperation. The award of the Erasmus Accreditation confirms that the applicant has drawn up a plan for the implementation of high quality mobility activities as part of a wider development effort of his organization. (Internationalization Strategy)

The program started in 1987 and covers all areas of education and training, from preschool education and care, school education to vocational education and training, higher education and adult education.

The Erasmus + 2021-2027 Program aspire to offer participation opportunities to all, with an emphasis on people with fewer opportunities and smaller organizations, without prior experience in the Program. The central axes around which it will move are social inclusion, digital transformation and the enhancement of digital skills, the participation of young people in the democratic life of Europe, the protection of the environment and the fight against the effects of climate change, the strengthening of the European dimension of teaching and learning, the knowledge of the common European heritage and the richness of diversity, as well as supporting the development of professional networks across Europe.

The president of KEKPA-DIEK Mrs. Sofia Chalari, the vice president and legal representative of  DIEK, Mr. Apostolos Zarkadas, emphasize that one of the main goals of VTI is the most complete education and training of its students, a fact that is enhanced by their participation in European Programs, the benefits of which do not stop with the graduation of students, but continue in their subsequent course in the labor market.
