During the implementation of KA2 (Strategic Partnerships): `` Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices in Vocational Education and Training `` in the framework of Erasmus + 2014-20 entitled: "The future is our jewel" by KEKPA-DIEK, mobility took place in Porto, Portugal from 1 to 7 November 2021.

Porto and specifically the school Escuela Artistica de Soares dos Reis, was visited by the director of I.I.E.K Volos Municipality, Mrs. Maria Voulgari and students of jewelry department. The project "The future is our jewel" brings together 6 partner schools around a common object, the creation of jewelry, whose cultural heritage and professional history is different. Thus the program covers the need to highlight the diversity in the field of jewelry, so that these different techniques used in different European countries become resources of shared wealth and learning opportunities, resulting in the acquisition of new knowledge and techniques for personal and professional development of students in the field of jewelry.

The students participated daily from morning to afternoon in various workshops of, metalworking, ‘reppousse’ technique, engraving, making jewelry with press, with laser and printing techniques for silver and gold, during the mobility creating at last the logo of their jewelry!

During cultural visits participants of I.I.E.K Volos Municipality visited, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves (Museum of Contemporary Art in the park Seralves), where they had the opportunity to explore the top art gallery of Porto and to wander in the botanical garden with the giant sculptures. They also visited Casa de Serralves where they studied Joan Miró’s creations.

Unique experiences for DIEK’s group were visits to Art Galleries and Jewelry workshops of graduates of Escola Artistica Soares dos Reis school in Porto.

The work program during the three years is related to four types of activities for the methodology of implementation and management of the strategic partnership: 1) Research 2) Jewelry creation 3) Catalog creation 4) Exhibitions and promotion of   students and schools work!

The President of KEKPA-DIEK Mrs. Sofia Chalari as well as the Municipal Authority of Volos support and promote European projects, the benefits of which do not finish by students’ graduation but continue in their access to labor market.
